By now you should understand it’s important to attract quality visitors who are engaged with your brand on all of your social media platforms. Gone are the days when you begged family and friends to like your Facebook page just so you could show lots of fans. A smart and simple way to collect Facebook likes for your page is to add a Facebook Page Plugin to your WordPress site. It’s an easy way for your visitors to let you know they like what you are doing and want to receive more updates from you. Yes, Facebook organic reach has declined significantly over the past year. But Facebook likes are still important so why not add a Facebook like box on your website to collect likes that really matter? I have found that visitors will oftentimes click the Facebook “LIKE” button instead of leaving a comment. In this way your Facebook likes will increase organically and you’ll build a more engaged community. This solution uses Jetpack so you need to have a WordPress.com account set up. Then you will be able to add and activate the Jetpack plugin.
(As a side note, if you don’t have a WordPress.com account, you might want to sign up so you can get a gravatar. A gravatar is an image or photo that is associated with your WordPress.com account and displays next to your comments, blog posts, on forums, and other places on the internet.)
How to Add a Facebook Like Box to WordPress with JetPack 1. In the dashboard, go to Plugins>Add New. 2. In the Search Box, enter Jetpack. 3. Click Install Now and follow the instructions to connect Jetpack to your WordPress.com account. 4. Once Jetpack is installed, you can add the Facebook like box widget to your site. 5. Go to Appearance>Widgets. 6. Find Facebook Like Box and click on the label: 7. Select the location of the Like Box and click Add Widget. 8. Next complete the title, your facebook page URL, size, and customization preferences. Congratulations! You now know how to add the Facebook like box to WordPress. If everything has been added correctly, you should see the like box on your site. If you’re not using Jetpack, there are several other ways you can add the Facebook like box to WordPress. I have found that adding a Facebook like box to my WordPress site has steadily increased my Facebook like counts with people who are truly engaged with my brand. How about you?
